New Funding Opportunity for Expressive Arts Activities (Wales)22nd November 2023

State-maintained schools, pupil referral units, and arts and cultural organisations in Wales are now eligible to apply for the Have a Go fund, a new initiative from the Arts Council of Wales that aims to provide learners aged 3 to 16 with opportunities to engage in hands-on expressive arts activities.

The fund offers grants of up to £1,500 to support the delivery of a single-session or multi-day activity focused on one of the five disciplines within the Expressive Arts Area of Learning and Experience: art, dance, drama, film and digital media, and music. Activities can take place during school hours or as extra-curricular activities, either at school or at a suitable location within Wales.

The Have a Go fund was introduced to address the importance of creative learning in developing young people's artistic skills, enhancing their overall learning experience, and fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts. By providing funding for one-off hands-on activities, the Arts Council of Wales aims to encourage schools and arts organizations to collaborate and deliver engaging and stimulating experiences for learners across Wales.

There is no closing date and applications can be made at any time.
